Volodymyr Andrushchak - baritoni
Volodymyr Andrushchak is a baritone from Ukraine whose artistic activity embraces opera, oratorio, lied, early music, contemporary repertoire, and interdisciplinary theatre. He graduated in 2009 from the Choral Conducting Faculty of the Lviv National Music Academy of Ukraine. In 2011, he was awarded the prestigious Gaude Polonia scholarship of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, studying early music at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. He later completed vocal studies at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław (2016) and continued his education at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München (2018). His artistic development was further enriched by masterclasses in Baroque vocal interpretation led by Peter Kooij and Peter Harvey.
He performed as a soloist with a cappella Leopolis, the first ensemble in Ukraine specializing in early music, Camerata Silesia in Katowice, and Cantores Minores Wratislavienses. Since 2022, he is collaborating with the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble. As a singer, actor, and conductor, he also joined the cast of the internationally acclaimed Song of the Goat Theatre (Poland).
In 2022, he created the solo music-theatrical performance The Garden of Divine Songs in collaboration with Finnish, Polish, and Ukrainian artists, based on poetry by the Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda and set to music by Maciej Rychły. In summer 2025, he received the Jury’s Special Prize at the International Toivo Kuula Vocal Competition in Finland.
Over the last decade, Volodymyr has increasingly focused on solo repertoire, performing both opera and lied. His operatic roles include Don Giovanni, Count Almaviva and Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro, W.A. Mozart), Osman (Les Indes galantes, J.-P. Rameau), L’horloge comtoise (L’enfant et les sortilèges, M. Ravel), and Wolfram (Tannhäuser, R. Wagner), alongside major oratorio works including J.S. Bach’s Passions and cantatas, as well as G.F. Handel’s Messiah.
